Situated at the foot-hills of the great Himalayan range of mountains , spread over 43,000 sq yds, shadowed by the pristine town of Kasauli, Chintamani School made its beginning in mid 1983, when the brick kiln, started by the Founder, Late Shri Chintamani, for the purpose of industrialization of Himachal Pradesh was being closed down due to paucity of coal. The labourers were reluctant to send their children to school away from the kiln site so a kindergarten school came into existence to ensure education to all children in the vicinity of the kiln.
The School started in four rooms of the kiln as a crèche growing slowly to KG and nursery classes and over the years has grown into beautifully laid out institute giving education up to the Secondary Level. The School is affiliated to the Himachal Pradesh Education Board. We wish to emphasize here that the school is still meant for economically weaker section of the society where “caste or creed” has no essence. It still remains a school where a girl child is encouraged and siblings are given free education
Chintamani Foundation has been running the school successfully since 1984, the foundation stone of which had been laid by Sh Virbhadra Singh, Honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh at that time (Oct 04, 1984) and today. A few photographs of the event are attached.
